Hi Everybody,

My wife and I are going to open an exclusive Thai Restaurant in Mid Wales, we are wondering how easy is it to get a UK Working Visa for a quallified Thai Chef to come and work for us in the UK, This idea is in an early process at the moment, as we must get prices for Building works and Planning etc, we have a vacent property we own.

If everything go's through ok, we will be posting on thai visa, looking for a Thai Chef, we will pay all visa costs for the right applicant.

Replys Please.

Thanks Guys..

It used to be possible to apply for a work permit under the Sector-Based Scheme. However, that has now been withdrawn in respect of the hospitality industry.

A prospective Thai chef will now have to qualify under the general work permit regulations which are a lot more stringent. As a starter, you'll have to show that you can't fill the position from within the EU's indigenous population. The Home Office would also expect a work permit applicant to hold professional qualifications.

Scouse.
