mrtoad
We loved our beach front bungalows at KC Grande. Nice facilities also. KC is nice. Mrs T works there as well. I like the new building on the otherside as i think the rooms are better than on beachside. It is a good location as well Sent from my GT-I9500 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe they are either undergoing extensive renovations or building something really big on the beach side. If it's the one I remember, the noise was horrendous during the day.

mrtoad
Has anyone been to Chaipura Resort ? I knw the owner and it is close to where I live. I have had friends stay there, and have seen the rooms. It is a lovely spot by Kong Khoi beach of the island) (actually one of the better beaches IMO on the West Side, near Bang Bao. I do recommend though that if you are staying there that you have some transport if you wish to get around the island as it is quite a wat from the busier towns. The rooms are excellent, and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a peacful get away.

canman
Koh Chang Resort and Spa was always one of my favourites. You can get a basic room in your price range.
aber
Hello, what is for you the best front beach (front sea) bungalow at Koh Chang ? I mean a bungalow on the sand or even on the sea, Maldives style ! To access shops and restaurant I guess that white sand beach is the best choice ?
mike247
If you're after Maldives style you may be dissapointed, Koh Chang is fast turning into a dump, white sand beach is filthy, there is what looks like an open sewer running directly onto to beach. Klong Koi is by far the best beach which is on the popular west side but further round past Lonley Beach although I don't think there are any bungalows directly on the beach there, Chai Chet resort is very nice and a great beach there too, Flora Talay is another good place on Klong Prao beach. Take a look at the neighbouring islands Koh Kood and Koh Mak, Seavanna resort on Koh Mak is exceptional, and you can kayak out to Koh Kham which is spectacular. Koh Kood is a fantastic Island with a few great waterfalls too, the beach natural resort is an excellent place on bang bao bay/beach. Best time to visit all three islands is from November to February, the end of November is the optimal time.

aber
Thank you, so it will be difficult to find 1000 thb bungalows directly on the beach like Koh panghan low season ? (not haad rin)
mike247
Try KB Resort in Kai Bae, its really nice there, if you are lucky you may be able to get a bungalow for 1000 during low season. If not try KP Huts in Klong Prao, or Tiger Huts also in Klong Prao although they are a big step down from KB Resort. Also try Porn Bungalows (yes that is the name!) at the bottom end of Kai Bae beach next to Seaview Resort. There used to be very small huts directly on the beach at Kae Bae Beach Resort for around 350 Baht but I'm pretty sure they have all gone now. The resort is in between KB Resort and Porn Bungalows at the south end of Kai Bae beach. Edited May 21, 2016 by mike247
