Small spotted coral snake in garden

Featured Replies

Just found one of these small, beautiful and potentially dangerous snakes in my hotel garden (Phuket).

Unfortunately, due to the presence of kids and guests, it had to go :(

Good choice to get rid of it. No room for error.

Nice picture. Agreed. The kids come first.

Had to go in the sense of relocating or ???

Had to go in the sense of relocating or ???

Unfortunately, in the sense of chopping off its head... :(

The problem is that the snake will no doubt return unless I relocate it a long distance away. I'm not an expert in catching poisonous snakes and I'm not about to start. Even if it is a harmless snake, the mere presence of a snake scares the hotel guests.

This little snake was well hidden in the grass of our garden, very easy for a child or adult to step on.

unless you are Vern, then the pic u posted is not your own snap of the actual snake in your garden (it's clearly lifted from the net)

are you sure it was this species?

regardless of this . . . as a guest at a resort, i would respect the owners more if they gave publicly & prior acknowledgement to the obvious presence (this is Thailand after all) of reptiles in the vicinity & took steps to carefully safeguard their well being also, rather than simply kill without any consideration. From a PR point of view, it could do you and your business only good to be seen as an eco establishment . . . hearts & minds ?

just my 2 cents.

Good choice ,kill the bloomin thing ,

Another snake needlessly dispatched for no other reason than it was "potentially dangerous". I wish I could us that excuse for some people I have met ( a hint of sarcasm).
