Test pillows before buying, Tesco Lotus or Carrefour?

Featured Replies

I remember being able to touch, feel & squeeze pillows on display but I can't remember if it was Tesco or Carrefour?? We used to buy pillows in Central but they're wrapped in air-tight plastic so you never know if you're going to spend B500 or B3000 on a pillow which is only good in name...

I've got big hard ears you see, and I need soft pillows otherwise my ears ache in the morning, I've spent a lot of money on pillows in Thailand and hardly any of them have been any good, we've been lucky with cheaper pillows on a few occasions!

Any quick answers would be greatly appreciated smile.png

Have you tried ear-muffs? Or maybe ear reduction surgery?

Thanks for your worthy contribution!

I think Carrefour Thailand has been acquired by Big C.

Both Tesco and Big C are pretty deserted early in the day, therefore suggest you go when they open and (if you are lucky) you might find a pillow with a small hole in the plastic wrap so you can test its comfy level (but please don't tear off the plastic and test with your bare head).

haha, no I would never do that tx22cp! But I do remember that I saw an entire row of cushions which had an opened pillow on display in front of each type on sale, just can't remember where I saw it, it was years ago.

However, after a bit of searching on the net I've decided to pop over to Ikea and see what they've got on offer :)

Believe Carrefour indeed did have on display that way on Latphao Road where I bought my current pillows - memory foam type but were half price as I recall and about 500 baht. But if you are spending 3k for pillows expect you might be able to find a department store that would have items for testing.

Try IKEA ...probably have over 50 pillow types....can touch, squeeze and test!

Good luck!

Tried Ikea and came home with a couple of lovely B590 pillows!

The B3,000 pillows we looked at before were in Central Pinklaow and there were no display items and we couldn't test the pillows at all because they were packed in plastic like the crisps are here - puffed up balloon bags..

If I had that problem I would order goose down pillows from Canada or the US and call it good, no matter the cost. Heck, I have them anyway. We spend about 1/3 of our lives sleeping and I never skimp on bedding.

I could test several pillows in Central Ladprao. They give u the pillows and take you to the beds where u can lie down and try them all. ( along with the beds for sale)
