Canon printer

Did you choose English during setup? Are the operating system's Region and Language settings set to an English-speaking country? Is there a language option in the Canon software? Search for an .ini file in the Canon directories and look for a regional/language option.

to JSixpack and DaffyD: Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately my computer knowledge does not permit to me to manage 'in files'. Unbelievably the installation disk does not carry a 'language option' It carries a 'region option' and I tried clicking the 'Europe' and 'UK' options even being here in Thailand. But nothing to do. Some of the pages continue to appear in Thai language and precisely the chapters 'printer setting' and 'printer status'. My previous installations with this same disk did not give to me this problem. Thank you again.

"I had to reinstall my Pixma iP 2700 setup CD-Rom"

Are you reinstalling or installing for the first time on this computer?

The Operating System contains Location, Region and Cultural conventions on displaying Numbers, Currency, Time, Date. Setup/Installers can read these settings/flags when installing variations of the software.

UNINSTALL / REMOVE all Pixma Software, then reboot the computer and attempt to reinstall the software, look closely for a Language or Region choice.

Also, the CD may contain REGION SPECIFIC installers that you can launch manually to force the install in the desired language. Opening the CD in a file browser and locating the corresponding Language Folder or .exe installer may be possible.

Another alternative may be to visit the Canon website and see if a language-specific installer exists.

I have a Canon E510.and just recently reinstalled the drivers from the disc. The printer was purchased here in BKK

During the install, about 1 or 2 screens in I get a screen asking for my location and language, it is a full screen world map. Mine defaults to english but there is a drop down menu so you can choose your language. As others have said, uninstall curent program reboot and reinstall looking for a screen asking you for language or region.

Good Luck

I have a Canon Pixma printer installed on two computers here in Thailand.

The first computer has Windoze 7 english installed. The printer CD installed in english and all menues etc in english

The same CD installed on a Windoze 7 Thai installed computer defaults to Thai. Even clicking American region still makes it install in Thai. All menues are in Thai

Seems like the CD takes info from the installed operating system
