If I was to run off the job in LOS what can my employer do to me and my passport?

I have an improper visa too.

Thanks

What is an "improper visa"...? :o

At a guess I would say he is working without a work permit and possibly with a visa where working is prohibited...

Actually, if he is illegal, that is, has no work permit, it would be much easier to leave a job than it would be if he is legal. :o

If he has a type B visa and work permit, the company can notify immigration and they will give him a few days (I think 7) to get out of the country before they cancel it! Then, if the company wants to be nasty, they can refrain from cancelling the work permit so that he cannot get a new one when he returns with a fresh visa and wants to start a new job. :D

The irony here is that the ex-employers can get him totally messed up IF he is legal, but if he is illegal, all they can do is inform immigration, which they probably won't do as THEY were employing him illegally! :D

someone with an "improper" visa and trying to run from the employer that is under these circumstances even giving him a job doesn't even deserve a helping response, in my opinion. so my response should be helpful enough.

The OP claims he has a Tourist Visa and is therefore working illegally.

Rather than "run off the job", all he has to do is tell his employers that they must provide the necessary paperwork for him to get a Non-Immigrant 'B' visa and work permit, or he can no longer work for them.

As they have not provided the necessary paperwork to date, it seems unlikely they will now.

That being the case, he just walks away from the job, no need to run... :o

If Sanook Mai is successful in getting his non-immigrant type B visa, work permit and works for a while teaching, but then Sanook decides to quit for whatever reason.

Would Sanook be required to tell his employer (Principal) at the school and give them notice or can he just quit and move on?

If he quits, what would happen to his nonimmigrant B visa? Could he have it easilly changed at Immigration to a noni-mmigrant type 0 visa without any problems? Would there be any possible retaliation against Sanook from the school personnel?

Sanook Mai,

Mai Sanook, chai mai?

You are possibly working illeglaly... Therefore this board cannot advise you.

If you are legally working, you are wanting to leave unethically. This board cannot advise you.

If you are illegal in this country, then this board deffo cannot advise you.
