jackoholly
Hi All This is a very random question but does anyone know a place or person that would buy platinum diamond rings? Perhaps a shopping centre that deals with jewellery mainly or a specialist dealer that melts precious metals down to make new items of jewellery? Any info is appreciated. Relationship just ended and the rings are worth a fair bit of money! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa Connect Thailand

CharlieH
As you stipulated Bangkok, lets move this to the Bzngkok forum for local knowledge. Moved.
FritsSikkink
the rings are worth a fair bit of money! You will only get a small % of what you bought them for. Platinum isn't very popular in Thailand.
Bpuumike
Avoid any shopping centres. The metal content will not be worth much in Thailand. If you can afford to wait, probably better to sell in your home country. On the bright side, you got out before you got too deep in. Suradit69
You can sell it anywhere, pawnshops or any goldsmith shop which are everywhere in thailand. Gold shops will generally only be interested in Thai gold and, in some cases, only gold that you've bought from them or other known dealers (best to save receipts). Most Thai gold has a purity of at least 96.5%, whereas much foreign produced gold jewelry has a lower percentage of gold. As others have said, gold, coins (such as Krugerrands) and jewelry you obtained outside of Thailand, will not find a ready market here and if you find someone willing to buy it, you won't like the price offered. Better to sell it on your next trip to Farang Land. If the jewelry is antique and has some documentation of provenance, you could sell it at auction http://www.eurseree.com/ but it may fetch far less than you'd like if it sells at all.
