Nakhon Phanom battered by floods; NDWC warns 9 provinces of possible mudslides

NAKHON PHANOM, 5 August 2014 (NNT) - Nakhon Phanom province was lashed by heavy rains all night long yesterday, causing many communities in the area to become flooded.

Heavy rains have caused pooling up of water across several roads in the province on the night of August 4th. Small vehicles are still unable to pass through at this point, causing a lot of problems for commuters using the roads.

Provincial Governor Adisak Thep-asa has quickly ordered related agencies to urgently provide relief efforts for residents who are affected by the floods.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Warning Center (NDWC) has issued an advisory warning to nine provinces in the country to brace for possible flash floods and mudslides.

Those nine provinces include Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Nan, Sa Kaeo, Chanthaburi, Trat, Chumphon , Ranong, and Phang-nga.
