Malaysian couple charged with alleged theft from MH370 passengers
By Hilary Whiteman, CNN

(CNN) -- Malaysian police have charged two people over the alleged theft of around $35,000 (110,600 Malaysian ringgits) from the bank accounts of four passengers on missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

HSBC bank officer Nur Shila Kanan, 33, is facing 12 charges after allegedly transferring money between the passengers' accounts, Assistant Commissioner Izany Abdul Ghany of the Kuala Lumpur Commercial Crime Investigation Department told CNN.

Nur Shila's husband, Basheer Ahmad Maula Sahul Hameed, a 33-year-old mechanic, is facing four counts of allegedly using a debit and other cards belonging to one of the passengers to withdraw money from an ATM.

Funds were also allegedly transferred to a fifth account belonging to Pakistani man Ali Faran Khan, who is still being sought by police.

Perhaps it's about numbers eh. A bank official can make a new card, give to someone to draw cash. I think easy, but glad these shits will pay their price........thumbsup.gif

Grave Robbers deserve grave sentencing. Hope they get it.

The accused (Nur Shila Kanan & Basheer Hameed) are Bumiputras.

The passengers they allegedly stole from (Hue Pui Heng, Tian Jun Wei, Ju Kun, Tan Size Hiang) are Chinese/Chinese Malays.

Hope the Bumis won't get any special treatment.

BTW, well done to HSBC for turning in one of their employees so publicly.

Nice. If convicted, there's a special place in hell for them.

It's esp. possible by a bank employee when the passenger is not around to know what's happening to their bank acct. Plus they can make a counterfeit copy of the passenger's credit card.

I work in banking and knowing how HSBC is, the alleged perpetrators were bound to be caught. Ppl underestimate compliance and weekly/monthly oversights that these firms have in place. Dumb fools. It's not as if the deceased estates were not already being prepared for distribution/taxation and the executors/equivalent are monitoring them.
