Forming a travelers group to explore Thailand the slow and easy way (by train that is)

Featured Replies

Inspired by canarysun’s recent fabulous thread “Travelling by train in Thailand – It’s so much fun”, I have this great idea:
Why don’t we form a group, for those less intrepid or fearful of traveling alone we can retrace his easily arranged 1 or 2 day train journeys together, have fun and safety in number (travelling companion who can watch over one another’s luggage when the others go to the bathroom, or can speak/read Thai when the other doesn’t, or share a tuktuk/taxi - just a few examples).

Anyone residing in BKK who want to join the group please PM me. We can call ourselves “(Canary)Sun’s Railways Followers” a few participants would do - and plan once or twice a month trips, I’ll volunteer to be the organizer… How does that sound? Let’s see more of Thailand (before it’s too “late” for some of us).

Hope to hear from many of you! cowboy.gif

Sounds like great fun! Please keep us posted.

Would definitely be interested in this, though not (yet) living in Thailand. Love train travel. Relaxed pace, lovely scenery and mostly nice people. Usually, though not always, in the country some time around January - March.
