Chonburi Police bust a gambling ring running inside an apartment in Pattaya

CHONBURI, 9 September 2014 (NNT) - Investigation police in Chonburi have busted a gambling ring that was operated on the third floor of an unknown apartment located in central Pattaya city. A total of 16 punters consisting of 9 men and 7 women have been arrested.

Authorities have also confiscated several items including gambling dice, scoreboards, Roulette wheels, and an amount of cash.

According to Pol. Lt. Col. Chitdecha Songhong of the Chonburi police, this group of gamblers have long run an illegal gambling ring inside this apartment. However, arrests have been difficult in the past as the building requires a key card access for authorized members only.

Police have arrested two main suspects, who were 61-year-old Ms. Samorn Kamkerd and 42-year-old Mr. Thanapol Kongjai. Both of them were responsible for running the gambling den and were then transferred to the Pattaya provincial police so that charges could be made.

Search warrant ? probable cause. The police couldn't get in as they needed a key card. What, too technical for them.

defamatory reference

Ha ha you mean they can hack into social networks but not into a simple condo building.

So if mass murder occurred on the premises, would the police not be able to gain access? Or give up quite so easily?

Legalizing gambling and using revenue for building up flood protection, a healthcare and pension system and maybe there even would be something left to hire qualified teachers... might be an idea crazy.gif.pagespeed.ce.dzDUUqYcHZ.gif

How come the apartment was 'unknown'?? Unknown to whom???

I'm sure the Thai writer meant "undisclosed" apartment location, instead. Be generous, sir!

A defamatory post was removed. Please carefully note this forum rule for your own protection as well this forum's...

6) You will not post comments that could be reasonably construed as defamation or libel.

Defamation is the issuance of a statement about another person or business which causes that person to suffer harm. It does not have to be false to be defamatory. Libel is when the defamatory statement is published either in a drawing, painting, cinematography, film, picture or letters made visible by any means, or any other recording instruments, recording picture or letters, or by broadcasting or spreading picture, or by propagation by any other means. Defamation is both a civil and criminal charge in Thailand.
