Closing and locking topics

Featured Replies

I do realize that moderators do, at times need to close and lock topics for good reasons.

Topics that break the forum rules or can be harmful or even foolish should and are usually closed by moderators.

But, lately I have noticed topics closed for no other reason than that the moderator seems to have lost interest in it or is just tired of it.

Is it a moderator's job to decide what we are interested in?

As stated above, there are good reasons for moderators to close a topic, but if a topic is not in violation of the rules or harmful, I believe it should be allowed to run it's coarse until members lose interest and it dies out on it's own.

I also believe an OP should have to option to close any topic they have started.

Does TV monitor it's moderators or just let them assume any authority they want to claim?

Any thoughts on this?

I would have moved this to Forum support to answer your questions, however since you are in fact commenting on moderation and as per this forum rule:

10) Do not discuss moderation publicly in the open forum; this includes individual actions, and specific or general policies and issues. You may send a PM to a moderator to discuss individual actions or email support (at) thaivisa.com to discuss moderation policy.
