hi there, I've just moved into a house in maenam soi 1, about 100m from ring road (nr Boudoir Restaurant)

Both 3BB and True said it's not possible to have internet here because it's 'full'

not sure what that means, but can anyone suggest a way of getting internet here? i need 10mb or thereabouts for streaming and other stuff, will TOT or Cat say the same thing, and if so, what options do I have? Neighbours on all sides are online so I'm confused!

Thx in advance for any replies

Maybe you should check first if TOT will say no or not?

If they're also full, your option will be moving to an area where they'll have availability. Ask them where they'll have.

You could try a dongle from DTAC etc but i'm not sure they're powerful enough for streaming. Some of the people sitting in tescos while using their computers have similar but I don't have specific details. Why not ask someone next time you're there? Another option might be to ask at the PC repair shop opposite Maenam post office.

TOT visit next on the agenda. Is there an office other than Nathon? Found out today the one by Fishermans village has gone

No it won't be fast enoughwink.png

! have friends, in Maenam, Soi 5 who just got 3 BB installed... after trying the Dongle method which was useless for streaming, or about anything for that matter! .... Do not try the True dongle, they will throttle speed after a period of time!

I am surprised 3 BB say they are full in that area, I would have thought a case of running a new line... OP could ask about a fibre optic line, with 3 BB it's a little bit more expensive ... but not by much! wink.png

thx for the replies guys, fibre optic may be the best (more expensive) option. I'll see what TOT say and take it from there. don't know anyone with CAT so may have to explore that a bit more.

CAT does provide line service, not sure if just fibre optic... It might be worth asking at their office in Nathon...(above post office)

I hear too many complaints about TOT.... wink.png

CAT are excellent in relation to the others, probably the best large provider in Thailand. More expensive though.

I used them on Samui a few years back, was a faultless experience.
