churchill
' Following the brutal murders of Hannah Witheridge and David Miller on Koh Tao last month, the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office has updated its travel advice to include a warning about the dangers of travelling to Thailand’s island destinations. The update advisory said: “Western tourists including British nationals have been victims of vicious, unprovoked attacks by individuals and gangs in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. “Violent sexual assaults and robberies against both men and women are reported regularly in the Koh Samui archipelago and Krabi province.” ' continued …. http://asiancorrespondent.com/127360/british-foreign-office-warns-travelers-about-thailands-islands/

Popular Post Suradit69
“Western tourists including British nationals have been victims of vicious, unprovoked attacks by individuals and gangs ... The same could be said of incidents involving tourists or nationals in many locations, including UK. Doubt they could be classified as unprovoked in all cases. Sounds like more of the usual white man's burden bilge. More sensible advice from trip advisor: Overall, Thailand is a safe nation in which to travel. Physical attacks and other crimes against "the person" are far less likely than in many other "developed" nations. Just as you need to be aware of your surroundings and personal safety when out and about in your home country, you need to keep your wits about you in Thailand as well.
