PRD Dept Head Selected As New Chairperson Of AIBD

PRD Deputy Head has been selected new chairperson of AIBD

The Deputy Director-General of the Thai Government Public Relations Department, Mrs. Pattareeya Sumano (ภัทรียา สุมะโน), has been elected as the new chairperson of the 26-member Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development, which is a regional inter-government institution.

At the 5th AIBD General Conference in Phuket, Mrs. Pattareeya stated that she will work toward continued development of the broadcasting sector in the region. She will be assisted during the 2-year term by a senior Chinese delegate who has been selected as her deputy. The election was held as part of the 5th General Conference and Associated Meetings being held from July 24th to 28th in the southern province.

The conference will be officially opened this evening (July 25) by Minister to the Prime Minister’s Office Suranand Vejjajiva (สุรนันทน์ เวชชาชีวะ). Today’s conference concentrates on workshops on television news management and strategic planning.

An exhibition on the 60th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession to the Throne is also organized in conjunction with the conference.
