This is the installer that fails, or Google chrome when you try and run it?

2. Double click My Computer desktop icon.
3. Open below directory:
C:\Users\[uSER_NAME]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
4. Remove all contents from the “Default” folder.

OK you're PC is logged in as a limited or guest user, you need to be an administrator to install.

Try right-clicking on the offline installer and selecting "Run as Administrator"

Just turned out that my DELL 1440 has the same problem, that I can't use Google Chrome anymore. I deleted it, downloaded anew version, but same problem. It stops and won't work.

It shows that it encountered a problem, looking for a solution, but then it won't. I see the same message as in post #7 Then I have to close it. That goes on and on and on...

No problems on my PC so far.

No its a rather popular program to browse the web, but that's not important right now.

If you have two PCs with the same symptom, then it is possible that you have been infected.

So boot them into a clean environment and do a full scan/clean.

Google chrome has crashed on me twice now,I'm sure we all know the hours of work necessary to get it up and running again,so never again will I install it,luckily I persevered and got Firefox to overwrite chrome and save hours of work and lost data!

I got a similar message to the Poster binnsy1 :

google chrome has stopped working a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program (closing the program does nothing) and that's where the headache begins!

Strange, mine is working fine, with a load of addons. Although I'm running it on Win 10.

Version 38.0.2125.104 m

It wasn't on mt PC as well, just on my DELL notebook. I found a way to get rid off it, downloaded the Google Standalone Setup and could finally get it working again.

P.S. Before I installed the Standalone, I used Your Unin Staller to delete ALL files, to make sure that no leftovers would cause me further problems.

Took a few attempts, but finally worked well.
