jdinasia
Just a vague thought for now. Leaving from Nakhon Nayok. 8 hours a day max actual road time. Max speed of 80kmh Support vehicles welcome. 1 will be going if I go. Must be able to get a vehicle passport (should have one in advance if possible) One overnight stay en route each way? Probably in KT for people coming from other areas. Just in the planning stage now. Helmets with visors mandatory. No other attire rules.
AllanB
That sounds like a great idea, will have a think about it, how about a 200cc bike does that count, otherwise my Wave would crucify my back? One up, two up? When? We are in Khon Kaen...... These unpretencious trips deserve to succeed
jdinasia
I am not a bike snob. The idea of little bikes is about speed. Folks who want to follow the same route on big bikes are welcome. We could set reservations for accommodation and a meeting place for dinner for non-group riders. I may have a friend driving his pick up truck also. That could help with breakdowns etc.
papa al
Will you be riding your TriCity?
jdinasia
Probably. I may have another new toy by then, but the plan now is to ride the Tricity
marcusb
Sounds like a fun ride. Good luck. I don't want to rain on the parade but just two points to consider. Bikes under 150 cc are not allowed to cross the border. This is a law, sometimes it is enforced, sometimes it isn't. The number two highway is absolutely insane on the close of the New years holidays. I have never seen so much traffic (other than Songkran). Your support vehicle will be miles and miles behind the motorcycles. Thats all minor if your aware of it. There are a couple good spots to park the motorcycle in Nong Khai just before the bridge, safe and cheap if anyone does have trouble taking their bike over. Passports are not often used anymore for bikes, all you need is your green book (in your name, or with a letter from the owner) Hope you guys do it! have fun! jdinasia
Good points. I will make a few calls and check on things. I have made the ride before but from Khon Kaen and had no issues at the border with the bike.
