Lex Talionis
All you condemning the man......let's see what are you going to do when you find out that your wife or girlfriend is cheating you. Come and cry on TVF? God what a stupid remark Costa. No man own a woman and if a woman wants to cheat that does not give a guy the right to abuse her. He can end the relationship but that is it. Guess plenty guys think they own their wife because they paid sin sod or something.. if she cheats.. its because your not interesting enough.. or the love is gone.. or you never were good enough and it was only for money. Thing is you cant force them to stay or abuse them, its a free country only insecure males resort to violence. +1 robblok, Loving someone, should mean that we can accept that this person will think, feel, and act in a way that is not in accordance with our own desires, not in accordance with our own means of gratification,to accept that this person will live in accordance with his or her own means of gratification.... Unfortunately, the cultural teachings through the milleniums has centered the feeling of love to a feeling of possession, of appropriation, of dependancy regarding the image that we have created about the loved one, to the effect that anyone behaving in such a fashion would be considered as indifferent. Facts She was cheating He found out He ejected her from his home To me that seems a reasonable thing for him to do. Ever tried to remove a Thai girl from your home? How did that work for you? Those aren't the "facts" at all. She didn't get caught cheating, just texting a male on the LINE app. And she didn't just get thrown out she was stripped, assaulted, set up with a humiliating picture for blackmail & thrown out naked. Sounds like jealous rage by someone who thought they were untouchable to me. Time to get your "facts" straight.
Halion
No mention of arrest, no mention nor comment from his station commander, and no photo ID just some dork in camo kit. hawker9000
Oh, wait a minute. Is this part of the local culture we must learn to accept and respect? Apologists, please respond... Ok allow me. In the country where you come from, is crime considered part of the "culture"? No, it's considered crime. Duh (short for, dumb question...). And it's not accepted, as it so often IS in Thailand. It's punished (as it so often IS NOT, and no doubt will not be in this case, in Thailand). What do YOU consider it to be??
callaway
Costas never advocated violence. For all you critisizing "nannies" go and read what he said properly. Do not try to put words into what he said. As fo what you think he was saying, well that is your opinion and irrelevant. Get off your high horses and get your heads out of your a##es

Do not try to put words into what he said. As fo what you think he was saying, well that is your opinion and irrelevant. Get off your high horses and get your heads out of your a##es Well, OK then. Please help us correct this pernicious mischaracterization. If not tolerance & advocacy of what the cop did, and an attack on those who expressed their condemnation of it, what do YOU think he meant? Please. Enlighten us with your deeper understanding - oriented though it obviously is to what most of us would consider to be the wrong end of things... And as far as "high horses" go, if being forthright in opposition to violence against women is being sanctimonious, then I guess I'd have to plead. But it's a charge I'd hope, and actually believe, most (but apparently not all...) men outside of the Land of Smiles would happily plead guilty to.

It's punished (as it so often IS NOT, and no doubt will not be in this case, in Thailand). What do YOU consider it to be?? I consider you to be dodging the question. What exactly is it you're trying to say there, bunky? Let me guess. That: 1) Thais just accept crime & do not desire justice and 2) "crimes going unpunished" is part of "the local culture"? Because the first is quite a sweeping (& patently false) generalization and the second, well... for this particular incident the jury's still out. (They know who he is. He may be arrested tomorrow.) Bottom line: some crimes get punished and some do not. The more power, connections & money the perp has the less likely he will wind up paying for it. Sorry to break it to you but that's the way it is all over the world. That's the way it's been throughout history. That's politics (realpolitik) not culture. You know what my problem is with guys like you? You're quick to make these absurd generalizations about a whole culture based on incidents (this one less than 24hrs old) you read about in the news. Every day the news outlets scour the country to find and report the latest (hopefully outrageous) crime to sell their papers. If it bleeds it leads. After weeks or months ingesting this, at some point you & the chicken little crowd start to notice "a trend." That's your eureka moment! "Well then, it must just be part of "the culture!" And the Thai people, they must be inferior, or childish, or illogical, or inherently violent." Then you begin poisoning the well, slipping your snide remarks ("Oh, wait a minute. Is this part of the local culture we must learn to accept and respect?") into the forums. If you'd pull your head out of your ass for just one minute you just might get a glimpse of how this false illusion operates. And understand how you've been duped. Try it. The air is much fresher out there. Oh and, to top it off, you're slamming "a culture" you know next to nothing about.

Come and cry on TVF? What an attitude like you have. You're kidding aren't you? If the storey is as written then she has only spoken with another man, not gone to bed with him. Yes, I condemn the man as a low life. A trusting soul isn't he, checked her phone then tried to rape her, cut off her clothes and ejected her from the room in an attempt to embarrass her. Also took a photo of himself with his foot on her face and told her he would use this to blackmail her. What a hero and a cop to boot, and one who obviously thinks he can get away with breaking the law.! So what would you do if you discovered that your g/f or wife talked to another man, not slept with him, just talked. Come on tell us what you would do and show us exactly what type of person you are. Would you find it acceptable to do the same thing? He's a typical gutless wonder and if you condone his actions then what does that say about you. I can rest assure you that I would not adopt this approach as I am a man, not a grub or women basher and, besides, there are plenty more fish in the sea so why would anyone lower themselves to this degree. I hope he gets his just desserts. Edited November 5, 2014 by Si Thea01

Of course you and costa are spot on with your thinking that it's ok to bash and humiliate women any time you think its justified - especially if you are a wimp, an excuse for a man and get your jollies from it. What has Western propaganda got to do with it, or is that your cop-out? Well Doc46, if you have had the misfortune to work with Greek wife beaters I guess you drawing a comparison to Thai men is justified. Back home we have welcomed 2 Greek lads into our family one marrying my cousins daughter and another marrying another cousins daughter. Decent enough blokes. So maybe your referring to older Greeks? american12bthai
Have to be so proud of the 'exemplary' specimens the Thai Police force are able to recruit. SinCityGr8One
Works as a "pretty", what de farx is that? She is a very soft "Porn" model. Usually has most of her clothes on but may expose her panties (crotch shot) or bra while in a suggestive pose. Similar to Lingerie models or "Victoria Secret" types. No big deal, really. BUT, to this jealous knucklehead it was! Fire him from the Police Farce and lock him up for a while till his jets cool down. Moron!.
