Two snakes mating in front of house

Featured Replies

By the time I got there they had been dispatched.

Anyone know what they are, whether poisonous or harmless in any event seemed to be automatic for the people to kill them around here?

Malaysian Pit Viper would be my guess.

They kill them because they are stupid, uneducated and too lazy to work for food.

The snakes also eat their rats and frogs.

Malayan Pit Vipers kill more people in Thailand than any other snake does.

Although you may lose part of your finger or other tissue, if you can get to a hospital and they have anti venom within 30 minutes you may not die.

Dogs, not so fortunate dead in 5 minutes maybe less. Mice gone real quick check out the video.

WHY Do people kill snakes. Uneducated Totaly agree with you,

Look more like Kukri snakes (Oligodon sp.) to me. Not venomous.

What would you guys do if you had a family pet dog with puppies and a nest of Malaysian Pit vipers in your garden? I called the snake guy as many Thais would also do. You do know that Malaysian Pit vipers will just lay there in the dark not moving and when you step on them (not seeing them) they will bite you and maybe kill you or your children?

Could be, I can't make out the head which is different on a viper.

Looking at the heads of the snakes on my pic I do notice that they are smaller and in line with the body, conversely looking at the body of the viper it seems to to thicker and have a more pronounced head shape plus the markings seem to be more colourful and vivid.
