Crime Myanmar Men Arrested on Koh Phangan After Posting Drug Videos

Tourism police on Koh Phangan have arrested a group of Myanmar nationals involved in drug trafficking after they posted videos of themselves using methamphetamine on social media, using the secret code phrase “Wan Jeep” to refer to the drugs. Following orders from Pol Lt Gen Saksira Phueakam, Commander of the Tourist Police Bureau, officers from Tourist Police Station 5, led by Pol Lt Winij Boonchit, tracked down Myanmar men posting drug use videos within the local Myanmar community on Koh Phangan. The suspects, identified as Mr. Koko and Mr. Aka, aged 29 and 26 respectively, were arrested at Koko’s rented room. Police seized five methamphetamine pills during a search. Mr. Koko confessed that the videos circulating online indeed showed him consuming methamphetamine. He said he purchased the drugs from a Thai dealer known only as Mr. Bew, buying between 50 to 100 pills at 50 baht each. He then sold them to Myanmar and Thai customers on the island for 100 baht per pill. The gang used the secret code “Wan Jeep” in conversations to refer to the drugs, frequently saying, “How much Wan Jeep do you want?” or ending discussions with “Wan Jeep.” Police then searched Aka’s residence in Moo 1, Koh Phangan, where they found a group of four Myanmar nationals gathered, apparently to consume drugs. Drug paraphernalia was scattered throughout the room. All four were arrested. Charges against Koko and Aka include possession of Category 1 drugs (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute and illegal drug use. The other four Myanmar nationals face charges of illegal use of Category 1 drugs and violating the Immigration Act of 1979 by entering Thailand without permission. A dramatic fire broke out in the early hours of 12 August, completely destroying a large teak wood house owned by Mr. Somsak Wongluang, the 64-year-old mayor of Ban Pin Subdistrict Municipality, Phrae. Fire Midnight Blaze Destroys Teak Wood Home of Mayor

A dramatic fire broke out in the early hours of 12 August, completely destroying a large teak wood house owned by Mr. Somsak Wongluang, the 64-year-old mayor of Ban Pin Subdistrict Municipality, Phrae. The blaze caused damages estimated at 16 million baht. At 01:35 police received the emergency call reporting the fire at house number 222/2, Moo 5, Ban Pin subdistrict, Long district, Phrae province. Deputy Investigation Officer Sgt. Adun Klaching promptly informed Police Superintendent Bamrung Nomsian and led a team to the scene. Fire engines from Ban Pin Municipality, Huai O, Mae Lanna, the Ban Pin Subdistrict Administrative Organisation and neighbouring areas quickly responded and battled the flames for over two hours before bringing the fire under control. At the time of the fire, Mr. Somsak was staying at a separate residence in his garden compound and no one was inside the burning house. Initial investigations suggest the fire was likely caused by an electrical short circuit, although forensic police are conducting a thorough examination to determine the exact cause. Police have documented the scene, including taking photographs and are preparing a detailed report. I never wrote or even implied that was true, nor do I believe doubting the words of the IDF equates to doubting the Holocaust. I mentioned the Holocaust as an example of a horrific series of events which some people choose to deny, despite mountains of evidence that it did indeed happen. Same-same with Hamas operatives masquerading as journalists. Plenty of evidence, but choose not to believe it. Every thinking human has even more reasons not to believe Hamas. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem). I am aware Hamas revised its Charter in 2017 to remove the most idiotic antisemitic tropes, but it has never revoked nor distanced itself from the original. The revision was most likely done at the insistence of foreign backers and supporters to make the Palestinian resistance to Israel seem less rabidly antisemitic. The change was cosmetic at most. .
