CharlieH
Went to Phetchabun Hospital today to see about renewal of the Government Health Insurance, refused, "no longer available" they say they are waiting for new rules from Health Ministry. This is not news for many other provinces which stopped the service awhile ago now but look like it has finally reached Phetchabun. For those who currently are on the scheme maybe now would be a good time to start seeking alternate cover.
Torrens54
Considering the vast amounts of MONEY injected weekly by Expats into the Thai Economy, it would behoove the current Government to continue to offer the long suffering FERANG, the one decent concession introduced by the highly criticized Yingluck administration. If we ALL leave Thailand "tomorrow" to go back to our home countries because we can't afford Medical Care here, what do you reckon will happen to the Thai Economy? MrMuddle
Oh dear, I was due to renew mine next month. As for alternative cover, way too expensive once one reaches 60 or more. Edited December 14, 2014 by MrMuddle

You never know, something else may well come along to replace it, with Political turmoil at present etc it uncertain, but you never know. They did say they were waiting on decisions from the Ministry of Health, so fingers crossed.
