Oil prices cut again, except Gasohol 91 and E 85

BANGKOK: - Bangchak and PTT Plc yesterday announced the reduction of Gasohol 95 and E 20 by 30 satang/litre, effective 5.00 am Wednesday. Prices of other oil remained unchanged.

The reduction of retail prices for Gasohol 95 and E20 came after a meeting of the Energy Policy Administration Committee (EPAC) yesterday as world oil prices continued to fall, Energy Minister Narongchai Akrasanee said.

The EPAC also raised the duty to the Oil Fund collected from diesel by another 70 satang a litre to 2.45 baht and from Gasohol 91 by 30 satang. But the increases would not affect their retail prices.

The new prices of all oil products will be as follow:

GSH95 = 30.00 baht/litre

GSH91 = 28.28 baht / litre

E20 = 26.68 baht / litre

E85 = 22.48 baht / litre

Diesel = 26.89 baht / litre

World prices or another government gift ?

I wonder if the Gov is going to take credit for this new years gift?

Benzene is still up near 40. Everything should be closer to, or at, 20 by now!

Does the gift still stay in play when oil prices rise?

This semi govt control of so many markets in Thailand is going to cause a mess

PTT must be coining it in

I have to hope that one day "speculation on the market" is illegal. What a barrel of oil costs on delivery bears almost no resemblance to the price at the pump, even after accounting for production mark ups.

Middlemen are ruining financial markets, agricultural markets, and even entire economies.

Buy stocks of oil companies and you become "the middleman" pocketing all the money wink.png

(btw, the barrels of oil are filled with crude, which is totally different from what goes into your car)

Keep it coming. Love this.

World prices or another government gift ?

Oil dropped 23 cents today but this won't impact fuel as fuel prices depend on how oil reserve Thailand has. When oil is bought at today's price, gets refined then hits the pumps it'll see some difference (if the government lets the savings filter through which it hasn't done to date - but then nor has any other government passed on the full saving, this has to do with taxes too). World prices were at the lowest on about 15th December when it went below $60 a barrel. If Thailand bought in at that price we should see - Buddha willing - a drop at the pumps soon

It's like Christmas!... Sadly there are no scheduled elections under the tree... coffee1.gif

Unleaded gasoline is less than $2.00 per gal in many states of the US now...lowest price in many years...hopefully more price cuts to come...

When I bought my Ford Ranger pickup in December 2001 I filled the 70 litre tank for a little under 700 baht.

Ah the good old days.

Wow the general does give happiness to the people. Well done may the junta rule forever.

Normally controlling market prices goes wrong.. ask YL and the rice scam. But the general got it right biggrin.png

(has nothing to do with the US trying to punish Russia)
