webfact Posted December 24, 2014 Share Posted December 24, 2014 A female member of Pongpat gang surrendersThe NationBANGKOK: -- A woman accused of having a hand in the intimidation racket allegedly led by former Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) chief Lt-General Pongpat Chayaphan turned herself in at the Khlong Luang Police Station in Pathum Thani yesterday, a police source said.Kasina Worrawit is the girlfriend of former Army captain Nuttapon Suwadi, whose royally granted surname of Akkarapongpreecha was revoked. She had been wanted by an arrest warrant issued on Tuesday for allegedly helping Nuttapon intimidate an ice supplier into giving up a Bt24-million deal in the Talad Thai wholesale farm products market in Pathum Thani.She has put in a request for bail, and if it is not granted, she will be under the custody of the Bangkok Martial Court. She was detained at the Thanya Buri Court after her surrender.Kasina faces two arrest warrants, one for having a hand in the intimidation and the other for lese majeste. Also, arrest warrants for lese majeste have been issued for two people identified only by police sketches, but the source did not say if these two unnamed suspects were part of Pongpat's racket.Meanwhile, Metropolitan Police Bureau commissioner Sriwara Rangsiphrammanakul said police now had information about the policemen involved in the Abubakar bin Sulaiman illegal gambling operation, and were processing requests to obtain arrest warrants for them all.
