English Radio Station In Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

First off all i am a newby to this forum group and let me apologize if i have posted in the wrong part for this topic im guessing as this would be classed as a business then this would be the right sub section but i also guess it could go in the communication.

I am interested in finding out if there is currently any english run radio stations with english djs in pattaya thailand broadcasting for the expats, if so are they any good ?

if there is not currently any english run radio stations do people on here think there is a call for this, plus is there anyone who knows of any restrictions for running, operating and broadcasting in thailand.

Any help on this matter that people can give me is very welcome

Thank you

Tony

Hi Tony - not sure if there's currently a station broadcasting in Pattaya on FM (or internet) with foreign DJs or not - have never heard of one broadcasting from there.

Also, Bangkok's only english language station FM 107 Metropolis (available in BKK and on the net) ceases broadcasting in it's present format with english speaking DJs this Tuesday and will become a mainly Thai station with Thai presenters and a completely different format.

There is certainly room now for a radio station in Thailand broadcasting from either Pattaya or Bangkok aimed at westerners.

Not sure about broadcasting restrictions that apply here, though Thais are fairly accomodating in this regard so long as the station keeps well clear of political commentary.

Hi Again Folks

not really having much luck on this topic, had a few people get back to me and thanks for that, but i was wondering if any one out there could answer a question which at the moment im not sure on and having a little trouble in find out whether thailand is the same as uk and U.S as in needing a FM broadcasting license and if so where you could obtain this license and the cost.

Thanks tony
