flights from chiang rai to krabi

Featured Replies

Is it only bangkok airlines that operates a chiang rai to krabi flight?

I think the only non stop flights from Chiang Rai to other places in Thailand are to/from BKK or DMK....not sure re BKK air if it is same airplane from BKK to Krabi but definitely stops in BKK....I suspect Air Asia connection would work out less expensive and you'll still be changing planes in Bangkok though at DMK.

Airasia operates from Chiangmai to Krabi and back...

Yes, if the thread starter wants to travel overland to Chiang Mai it would be an alternative.

Chiang Rai (CEI) to Krabi (KBV):

I looked up Bangkok Airways over one whole week.

And I see connecting flights via Suvarnabhumi only, 5h total time.

Alternative is Thai Smile/Thai Air on the same route through Suv.

Shortest connection: 3:50h (15:25h to 19:15h).

AirAsia: no nonstop CEI to KBV.

I think @pomchop is right.

When I go online to bangkok airways and plug in chiang rai to krabi I do get a stopover in bangkok-so the whole trip is about 5 hours. I can live with the stopover but bangkok airways is more expensive.

I can see that air asia does chiang rai to bangkok and it does bangkok to krabi but when I go online I can't get that route on the one ticket/one booking as I can with bangkok airways.

They don't offer multi-city options for those routes. I guess If I want both flights on the one ticket then I'll need to go into one of their offices.

The advantage to the one as opposed to two separate bookings has to do with possible delays or cancellations of the first leg of the journey-e.g. with one ticket, and delays or cancellations (caused by airline), they will rebook you no charge on the second leg.

Arriving Suv at 11:05h.

Departing to Krabi at 13:20h,

Sorry, but you are bit overcautious.

And if you (they!) miss it, they will probably board you at 17:20h.

Not really armageddeon,

thanks- you are probably right. I am just spooked by the ruthless antics of air canada (my usual carrier).
