mxyzptlk
I'm planning a very short trip to the UK (I'm a British citizen) and will be applying for a general visitor visa for my wife. I still have the majority of my money in a UK bank. I will be declaring that I will be cover all the costs of the visit. Will my bank statements be sufficient to meet the financial requirements to support my wifes aplication?
Jip99
Yes. I think I showed a balance on Premium Bonds for mine. It is good to set it out in a covering letter - I will send a copy of mine by PM.

theoldgit
Jip99 is spot on, funds in a UK bank are fine, just provide statements as evidence, and sum it up in your covering letter. Try and make the letter fairy short and to the point.
