Do We Need Visas To Visit Thailand As A Tourist?

Featured Replies

Hi All

I'm from Australia and had been to Thailand many times, I was never ask for visa so far (until last year)

Now I bought a ticket and in the email they gave a link for visa online application. Out of curiosity, I checked, they didn't say visa is NOT needed, instead shown tourist visa as 30 and 60days visa and asked to enter the details for processing.

Is it a new regulation that we need thai entry visa now? or is it just a rip off ???

Please enlighten us who are about to travel. We could ring the Thai embassy but it is not yet office hours and we can't wait to see the truth

Cheers

K

If you have a confirmed outbound air ticket within 30 days you qualify for the 30 day on entry visa exception if on an Australian passport. If you do not have the ticket out your airline may refuse to let you board aircraft as you should have a valid visa in your passport in that case.
