Electricity multifunction socket

I'm currently looking for something that looks like the picture below. I've been to some of the major DIY retailers (HomePro, HomeWorks, Thai Watsadu) and I can't find this type of socket.

Basically the function I need are multi plugs, USB and ethernet. I found the different functions with different manufacturers (Haco, Bticino, Schneider, Gata...) but because there is no standard I can't mix and match module from different manufacturers.

Not seen that style with the USB.

Haco make a range of interchangeable units, switches, outlets etc. that includes a USB charger which could be of use, look on their website for W8201 http://www.hacothailand.com/product-engsearch.php?txtsearch=W8201&imageField.x=0&imageField.y=0

Thanks. There are more models in this website that they display in the store, I just hope we can order. If not I'll try to contact them directly

HACO is also good because so far it is the only manufacturer that I found that offers double UK plug large enough that one can actually use both plugs at the same time. UK plugs are usually quite large and with most solution when one socket is used the other is useless

Charnchai do an extended range of Haco products http://www.charnchai.net/product-en-904111-Haco.html they're worth a call if you can't locate what you need in the major outlets.

The Haco Deco range is here http://www.charnchai.net/product-en-1008143-Switches++Sockets+deco.html?lang=en&ser=&cat=1008143&pn=0&id=&cat_w=

I've only ever dealt with them via tarad.com but the website does have a phone number, worth a call.

We called this morning. They don't seem very eager that we visit their shop. It seems more a pick up place for orders placed over the internet than a real shop. I should be in the area end of this week, I will have a look and let you know more about the place.

So far it seems that HACO is the manufacturer who has the better range but the problem is that no shop have on display / stock the full range. I want to make a few standard module mixing UK socket, standard socket *, Ethernet and USB sockets, that the electrician will then install in the designated places. It's especially the USB module that I haven't been able to find so far, beside on the internet in the site provided by Crossy above. The problem is I need the physical sample to make sure it fits in my modules, I hope they have it in stock in the shop when I'll go end of the week :-(

* UK sockets are too big and the double module don't fit in the wall, we have to install them in plastic blocs that stick outside of the wall and don't look very good. That's why we try to use them only when really needed.

Johnny, I have a Haco USB unit, if you fail with Charnchai drop me a PM, we're in Pathum Thani if you want to drop by.

That would be very helpful, thank you so much !!

I should get back my car from the service centre tomorrow which means I should be able to go to Charnchai on Friday. If they don't have it I'll send you a PM. It's incredible, I went to two other shops today, none of them have these USB sockets. Some people say it's useless, the adapters are so cheap nowadays but I still think an USB socket near the bed to charge a mobile phone for example could be very useful.

Thanks again, JJ

So I went there yesterday. It's a small shop and they don't have much things on display, mostly a front for their internet business. Nevertheless we met a very nice and very helpful sales lady who said they don't have this kind of product. She even showed us a picture sent by a customer (an hotel) very similar to the one posted in the OP . She said they were only able to find this product in China but decided not to import it. When I told her the product was in the HACO catalogue, she asked us to email her the reference and she will try to get it for us. As I said a very nice lady. We checked prices for other items and they seem quite competitive. She told us she can deliver the next day in most places in Bagkok so we will have probably some business with her in the very near future smile.png

Later we crossed the Srinakarin road and went for diner in the Train market that moved there after they closed in Chatuchak. All in all an enjoyable and profitable day. Thanks Crossy.

  • 4 weeks later...

For information Haco has an office where they have the whole range available. They sell more expensive than in Home Pro or other retail shops, it's their policy, but if you really need something and can't wait, it's the place to go. The office is located in Ngam Wong Wan, soi 9.

When we were there they showed their Home Automation range of product. We were interested so we made appointment with one of their sales rep who came to our place the next day. Unfortunately I found their system very outdated. I'm currently too busy to elaborate but it could be interesting to discuss this subject in an other thread at later time.

Great stuff JJ, I've often wondered if they sold direct but never had the time to go a hunting.

Are they open for sales at weekends?

A Google Maps or GPS reference would be really useful to many.

I didn't know either that we can buy directly from HACO until I met one of their sales rep in a trade show. I told him how difficult it was to find their USB socket he then advised me to come directly to their office in Bangkok.
