People who pay their bill quarterly might find those daily 12p have added up to bring their bill down enough to be able to pay it.

Cutting taxes is always the correct answer. You can't tax yourself into prosperity. This is the next step to improve the UK's tax structure.

You omitted to say that it is not a permanent reduction or exclusion but is only applicable for six months from October!

Cutting taxes is not always the correct answer, especially if doing so destroys the economy.

This particular cut seems like a very good move, if nothing else it signals Burnham’s focus on the cost of living crisis.

Of course I do accept there are those desperate to see him fail.

If he had put up VAT to add £22.50 to household bills I would accept you’d have something to bleed about, and I’m absolutely sure you would not be saying ‘it’s only 12p per day’.

There is nothing happening today or tomorrow it's all something that "might happen in the future" plenty of time for a u turn

I don't think anybody wants him to fail, cutting off ones nose to spite one's face is a very left wing trait not generally indulged in by us fascists, Fair play to him for getting rid of Lammy and Reeves , and cancelling the hated digital ID , nice move shifting Milliband too should have just sacked him really but other than that and giving rayner a job I don't think he's started off too badly he obviously realises that Starmer had created a real mess and he is at least being seen to attempt to improve things but he'll have to do better than a temporary 12p per day vat cut .

As to what will happen in the future ,well,without a miracle , he will be out of a job ,or consigned to opposition , at the next election
