I have a double entry tourist visa and want to know if I can get a re entry stamp to leave Thailand for a couple weeks during the second entry period of the visa I have now.

You get a single re-entry permit (1000 baht) to keep your 60 day entry valid if you want to leave. You can also get one for the permit to stay date you would get after you apply for a 30 day extension also.

You get the same permitted to stay date you had when you applied for the re-entry permit when you enter the country.

Yes a re-entry permit will preserve your 60 day permission to stay that you were given on your second entry. The re-entry permit will only be valid up to the date your 60 day permission ends (and/or 30 day extension if you got one)... it doesn't add any extra time to your permission to stay.
