Popular Post JackisBack
Gave this a try and workf fine While we're sure Google Earth works just fine for your daily virtual 'round-the-world travels, the Pro version comes with some really useful features -- even better, it's now completely free. Google Earth Pro, which used to cost an eye-watering $399 per year, gives you the tools to measure 3D buildings and other locations, print high-resolution screenshots, view demographic and traffic layers, and even record your virtual trips. To use it for free, you'll first need to sign up for a license and make sure your PC or Mac meets the minimum system requirements needed to run the program. Windows computers should be running XP or higher, and have at least 500MB of free storage and 512MB of RAM. Macs, on the other hand, have to run OS 10.6 or higher, along with the same storage and memory requirements. After that, you can download Google Earth Pro to plan for that hike you've always wanted to do or, you know, to take your armchair adventures to the next level Engadget Link http://www.engadget.com/2015/01/30/google-earth-pro-free/

rbkk
Nice one, thanks. Unfortunately the signup isn't working, maybe getting swamped. I had a problem at first. On using an alternate email it went through O.K. One strange thing though. The size of the Pro has come in at 104MB against 180MB for my current free version (same version number.) Tywais
Those who can not get the key request to work you may need to use a VPN as I noticed in the status bar it was doing a geoauth. My direct attempt failed but using a US VPN worked fine. Got the key in under 30 seconds after submitting.

hml367
Downloaded and installed just now. It was an option under HELP menu in my regular Google Earth. In the "new" Pro version, under help, there is the option to BUY the Enhanced version. Edited February 1, 2015 by hml367

bdenner
OK, I bit! Been playing with it a few times since yesterday afternoon and can't see where it's much different to what I'm use too? Definitely would not pay for it at this stage. I guess I'd better read the instructions to see what I'm missing other than designing and building a monument to my opulence after winning lotto. The difference being xxxx.chaiyo.com changed to xxxx.msn.com. I still used a Thai business/location/phone#. Will look at it later today to try and sus out it's smaller package size/comparison. Pro has been popular on the torrent circuit in the past as the 400USD was high for some. The Pro advantages are listed https://support.google.com/earth/answer/189188?hl=en and for me it has been the extended use of layers and different file types that can be imported that I found useful.
