Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've been doing a lot of research and came across many very good tours on Tripadvisor with high rating etc. but there is so many to choose from. I'm looking at this one below -

Is there any other tour recommendation you guys can give? I've never been to Thailand before and will be there for two weeks - Will be at both Phuket and Bangkok. I am in early 20s, and going with my girlfriend.

Tour for 2950 baht - Phi Phi + Khai + Bamboo + Mosquito + Yao Yai Islands

07.45-08.00 Pick-up from your hotel (see Transport Fee tab for applicable rates). 08.00-09.00 Arrive at Port Island Hopper for tour information. 09.00-10.00 Arrive at Khai Nai Island for swimming and snorkeling. 10.00-12.45 Arrive at Yao Yai Island for relaxing on the beach and outdoor activities. Lunch. 12.45-13.30 Snorkeling at Mosquito Island. 13.30-14.30 Arrive at Bamboo Island for swimming and relaxing. 14.30-15.30 Arrive at Phi Phi Don Island for sightseeing at Monkey Beach. 15.30-17.00 Arrive at Phi Phi Leh Island for sightseeing at Viking Cave, Pileh Cove, Loh Samah Bay and visit at Maya Bay for relaxing on the famous beach from the movie "The Beach". 17.00-18.30 Depart from Maya Bay and transfer back to your hotel. Transfer round trip from your hotel (see Transport Fee tab for applicable rates) Admission for marine national park English speaking guide Speedboat with full insurance Life jacket Lunch Mask and snorkel Unlimited soft drinks, water, fruit and snacks on the boat

Wait until you arrive.... And definitely don't book anything in the airport!!?... Once you get to your hotel, check in, relax and get into holiday mood. Then and only then go out and look around the streets in the vicinity. You will find loads of tour desks mostly offering the same packages you can then gauge the prices and trips that are popular. Your hotel will change you more than the ones on the street.

so so many tours and everywhere offers them

do NOT pay full price, the agents make as much as 50% commission!!

Thanks guys, I will be getting to Phuket at 7pm, and probably arrive to hotel at 9pm. What time do tour agency close? And will it be possible to book a tour for the next morning? That's why I'm thinking of booking online. So the next morning we can do a general tour of Phuket.

if ur in Patong there open late

i suggest a day off an enjoy

or rent a car and drive around the island on your own, do not need a tour for that

Per above suggestions, good ideas. Do local wandering on first day and pick a tour. Two weeks is plenty time to see all, I would suggest a dive live-aboard for four or five days. Not all that much to see on land, Phuket is very much water oriented with some spectacular island and underwater sights. Those one-day speedboat trips are not very interesting, do some sea canoe in the upper part of the bay (take you there by bus then get a two-person kayak canoe in a small group). Hints: take SPF 50 suns protection, do NOT go on jet-skis (notorious for ripoffs), beware of motorbike rental ripoffs and be super-careful on the roads, many tourists have died on motorbikes here.
