I have just got my first one year extension of stay (plus multiple re-entry permit).

I am flying out of Bangkok to UK on Tuesday and wondered what I needed to do - if anything - to preserve my precious new one year extension.

i. Do I hand in my departure card as per usual?

ii. Is the current arrival stamp (for which my stay is being extended) joined with a departure stamp?

iii. When arriving at Bangkok airport is there anything I need to do/write/say to preserve my extension status?

Thanks

Well, according to the other hundred threads, you already protected it with the re-entry permit. Write the re-entry permit number on the arrival card, when re-entering the country, otherwise carry on as usual.

1 Yes

2 Not sure what you mean here

3 When you fill in your arrival card upon your return to Thailand, make sure you write the re-entry permit number on the arrival card in the space where it says "visa number". I write "re-entry permit" next to this box as well

When you get stamped in, check the new permitted to stay date to make sure it is the same date as the permitted to stay date on your extension BEFORE you leave immigration. If they don't match, get it corrected there and then

Thanks mxyzptik thats clear. The key is to make sure the arrival stamp date is correct.

Search did not throw up the required answer hence my questions.
