Princess Soamsawali undergoes an eye surgery

BANGKOK, 29 March 2015 (NNT) - Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali yesterday underwent a surgery to remove a cataract in her right eye at Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok.

The Bureau of the Royal Household said the operation was successful, using high frequency sound waves to break the cataract up into tiny fragments followed by an artificial lens implant.

The statement said the surgery was satisfactory to the team of doctors. The Princess has been requested to refrain from official duties for two weeks as she returned to Thewes Palace yesterday.

Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali previously underwent a cataract surgery in the left eye on June 26, 2011. The surgery also yielded good result at that time.
