chiangrai
I got windows 8.1 a while back and when I set everything up I was duped into setting up a Microsoft Administrator account. I have now found out that I should have opened a Local Administrator account. So I opened a Local Administrator account but it seems rhat I have to set up all settings again to use it. So I have two questions--1 What are the pro's and cons of a microsoft account as opposed to a local account. Is it worth the hassle of changing everything now. and ---2 Is there a way to transfer the settings from my Microsoft account to the new local account. johnnynmonic
Pro, your contacts and settings, apps, etc. can sync across all your machines. You also get a lot of space in onedrive. I got like 30 gigs somehow. Don't really see a downside, actually.

johnnynmonic
It syncs in the background. I've set it up both ways and couldn't tell any difference in performance either way.
