Just walked by and its still there......no surprise......

Yes, no surprise there. I guess the 'owners' have taken off a long time ago. Salvage cost not worth it, the boat interior completely ruined.

In my opinion it's never going to be moved from Kata Beach unless the Local Authority makes an expensive recovery effort.

You would think the good mayor of Kata and Karon that illegally rented out sections of the beach for millions would be able to stump up a bit of cash to have the boat removed..............Unless he is using all the money for envelopes and legal defense of his illicit activities.

Today Friday, at 0730 a big Salvage Vessel has came to Kata Beach and is now pulling the Yacht out of the sand.....

Quite glad to see it go, as it's a safety hazard just last week I saw some tourists on the Yacht taking photos , but a lot of the Yacht has broken up and is in pieces.

Anyway, all a memory now, it will be away very soon...

It was beginning to look like a real eye sore.

So Kudos to Karon Municipal ... If it was them who decided to clear it away...

The Princess was in Kata Thursday, so I wonder if she had something to do with getting the local gov't to finally do something. Couldn't be coincidence.

Good to have it gone. Safety hazard after a while, sharp edges and tourists climbing all over the thing....
