PATTAYA; -- On Tuesday afternoon, Police and medics attended the scene of a road crash on the overpass leading to the Bali Hai Port which involved three vehicles, an Ice Truck, a car and a parked coach.

The driver and passenger in the cab of the Ice Truck were trapped for a time due to the rear-end collision with a Mitsubishi Lancer. The truck then hit a parked coach before coming to a halt.

Khun Sura aged 42 and Khun Worachai aged 47 were eventually removed from the cab and it was Khun Sura who came off worse with a suspected broken leg.

Makes me wonder whether the police test the brakes of these vehicles to verify the at-fault driver's excuse. Seem to be an awful lot of brake failures on commercial vehicles.

What's the Thai definition of a parked "coach?"

Gotta start a brake repair shop throughout Thailand. Would have a ton of business! Darn brakes, cause all the accidents!

One with the engine off I nearly said, but often the driver likes to sleep cool!

Two posts removed - one for trolling and one for a slur

Just too many brake failures given as lame excuses. Maybe brakes failed because driver didn't know where that pedal was located?

As someone famously pointed out on this forum last year, "Thais don't ever park, they just stop driving."

But it truly is the Hub of Brake Failures, no contesting that claim.

The brake failed to work statement should really be rephrased as' the brain failed to work' as its uusually the real reason most accidents happen

Wow. They were lucky to get out of that accident alive. Good luck to them.

Brake failure? Rubbish. Clearly, it was a short circuit......

sounds like nobody would use your services....and if someone did, it would become your fault next time they rammed another vehicle while drunk or asleep had a brake failure.
