Seats at the back of the bus, do they recline?

Featured Replies

I'm just about to book a bus ticket to Mukdahan for a visa run. But the seat is at the back of the bus. Do the back seats usually recline as much as other seats? Because I will need to sleep.

It's a VIP bus with Transport Co.Ltd.

Best of my knowledge the back seats do not recline at all.

Why not ask when booking ?

I can explain it for you - but I can't understand it for you 😀

no they do not recline, but very often they are empty for that reason, I have been able to go to the back and lie across the whole row

Walk

I moved to an empty pair of seats on a Nakhon Chai Air bus on a trip to Buriram. They were near the back but not the back row, so I cannot comment on the recline. But the overwhelming smell of piss coming from the loo eventually forced me to return to my original seat up the front.

Take an airplane (Boeing or Airbus). Much safer (even in Thailand) and faster !!!

I'm 6 feet tall. I think people who recline their seats should be shot.

Who should be shot: The bus builders & transport companies who space the seats so that reclining imposes ridiculous limitations on the occupants behind. Motive: greed.

It depends on the bus. Sometimes the back seats can recline and sometimes they do not. In a VIP bus the seats should recline, I took a VIP bus with Green Bus last week and I had the back seat and it did recline. It was also next to the fire exit so I got extra leg room and it was very comfortable.

Book the seat right behind the driver you have way more leg room.

When traveling I book 2 side by side seats. All the room a person could want

Also, statistically, the least-safe seat on the entire bus. What a choice: your life or your legroom.

And when the bus starts getting crowded (standing room only), you're still able to hoard that extra seat?

Actually yes. And its not hoarding, its a paid assigned seat. Done it many times in particular from BKK to Korat. And you get a discount. Learned the trick a long time ago,

I know it's not hoarding, but how do you handle the (usually Thai) person standing next to your empty seat?

Are they next to the toilet on VIP buses ?

These are highway busses not in town city busses.

We sang those seats on a Shan Tour bus to KK .. They didnt recline, the headrests vibrated to the sound of the engine - didnt matter it was so noisy y'couldnt sleep anyway.

Never again

I'm talking interprovincial highway busses.

Sitting in back if bus sucks. Seats dont recline, bounces, rough and worst of all the shitter smell.

Anywhere you purchase assigned seat tickets you can get 2 side by side purchase them and ride comfortably. Handsome man trick :)

What are you talking about? These aren't city buses. There are no people standing in the aisle. They sell one ticket for every seat, when there are no more seats they stop selling tickets. Most buses do not even sell out and there are empty seats.
