PATTAYA: -- On a slow morning at a Market in Naklua, a group of vendors decided to gamble as they waited for customers but someone at the market contacted the Police and vendors were arrested.

A total of 5 market vendors were suspected of playing the popular dice game “Hi-Low” for money, which contravenes Thailand’s strict anti-gambling laws. It is thought that another vendor at the market contacted the Police who arrived in-force and detained the gambling vendors.

Not sure I really get why anyone would dob them in - do the high-low games end in violence when someone loses their shirt or is caught cheating ? Seems odd in a country where the national sport - Muay Thai - is dominated by the insatiable gambling tendencies of a large number of Thai men.
