But she fought back and saved her belonging. The attempted robbery was reported to Pol Maj Ekkachai Mulli, an interrogator on duty of Pattaya police station, at 11:30 pm Thursday. Ekkachai was informed that a Chinese tourist was injured at the front of Soi Burana on North Pattaya Road in Tambon Naklua of Bang Lamung district. Ekkachai rushed to the scene and found Rong Danyi, 33, trembling with fear at the spot. She suffered bruises on her right arm. She was tightly holding her bag and her boyfriend, Charlie Wang, 48, was standing with her. The woman told police that she was returning to her hotel with her boyfriend when a pillion rider snatched her bag, causing her to fall down. She got up and held on to her bag and got it back. She said two other men on another motorcycle told the first two men to flee the scene. An eyewitness told police that he heard shouts for help and he rushed out to see two men trying take away the Chinese tourist’s bag so he ran to help. He sad two other men on another motorcycle saw him so they alerted their friends to flee. Several incidents of bag snatching from foreign tourists have been reported in Pattaya recently. On Sunday at the same area, two men on a motorcycle snatched a bag from a female Chinese tourist, causing her to lose her passport, police said.
