Posting suitcases across Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi there, I am coming back to Thailand soon and am getting in a bit of a stress because I will arrive in Bangkok with my one year old child and two big suitcases, a high chair and a pram. We will be heading far up north the day after arrival so i would like to post my bags as it's going to be near impossible to get around with everything alone. Does anyone have any experience sending their luggage across Thailand ? My stuff will be about 50kgs and sent too the mae Hong son area. I'm on a very tight budget so I was just wondering if anyone could estimate how much it would probably cost? A Thai friend told me 500b but online it says 3000b + ...

A 20kg parcel is around 305 baht, I doubt you could send it as one as it would be too heavy, there rate tool wont accept 50kg. Break it down into two or three pieces and should be no problem.

I've sent a motorbike before using the post office so a suitcase shouldn't be a problem.

You can also put them in a bus to the destination.

There is a 24 hr post office on the far right rear corner of the departure level of the airport

Hi thanks all for your replys, I will make my way to the post office as soon as I arrive!

OP My family and I always put excess luggage on the trains and have had great results 100% of the time over the last 12 years. Cheap, efficient and hands free for holding babies.
