3BB ADSL Connectivity Problems in Jomtien

Featured Replies

Is anyone else recently started having problems connecting to 3BB Near View Talay 5 in Jomtien?

It started a few days ago and I wanted to make sure it was not my Network Adapter/laptop causing the problem.

3BB has been very good the last two years and then the wireless signal would disappear from the list.

The wireless green light is always on my computer laptop when this problem is happening.

The wireless modem lights always looks like they always do.

3BB doesn't have anything to do with your WiFi (it just may happen to be in the same box). In fact, it should keep working even if the network is down.

If you are having WiFi issues (not seeing the WiFi SSID (name) then first try rebooting both the Modem/Router/WiFi box *and* your computer.

The Modem/Router/WiFi box can just be unplugged from the wall, count to 10, plug back in.

The Computer should be set to either reboot or shutdown and manually powered back on.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, you will have to dig a little deeper into troubleshooting.

If you have another WiFi device (a smartphone perhaps), does it see the WiFi signal?

If the second WiFi device sees your WiFi signal, but your computer doesn't then the issue most likely is with your computer.

I did all that already. I was wondering if this is a widespread problem. Thank You for the reply.

Some of the consumer units the Thai ISPs install on the customer side don't really last long.

Do you, or someone you know, have another WiFi device (like a smartphone) that can see if the WiFi SSID (name) is showing up and can log in?

It may be that the Modem/Router/WiFi works just fine and your computer needs to be looked at (driver or hardware issue)

Or it may be that the Modem/Router/WiFi can't be found or a WiFi connection made and either needs to be HARD RESET and reconfigured, or physically replaced.

Even if other members had or didn't have a similar issue to you, the steps to diagnose and rectify it would be the same.

If the issue is indeed with the Modem/Router/WiFi, some manufacturers (like TP-Link) have lifetime warranties.

How do you do a "Hard Reset". I just turn it off and wait one minute at best and turn it back on. Am I missing something?

Thanks again.

A hard reset is one where the non-volatile memory holding all the runtime configuration settings are erased, usually by depressing a physical 'reset' button on the device.

Before doing this it's advised you have a copy of the User Settings (adsl VPI/VCI Username/Pass etc) provided by your ISP on hand to be used to restore the settings once the device has been wiped. (Some ISPs allow using TR-069 auto provisioning to remotely retrieve the required settings, leaving you to set up the WiFi parameters.)

Again, this should only be done it is determined that several WiFi devices all have connectivity issues with the same modem/router/WiFi device.
