leverito
Please anybody advice where I can find clean water and clean beach not very far from Bangkok? Krabi,Phuket and Samui are too far... Thanks for advice ...
coulson
Your first stop is Suvarnabhumi....... No seriously, I tried Bang Saen to the East, water was murky, the beaches were full, the amenities were terrible. On the other side, Cha-am is almost somewhere you might enjoy the beach however it is 2 hours minimum by car, a little further south of Hua Hin you may find seemingly unchartered territory, but by the time you've returned to Bangkok it will have been easier to fly somewhere nicer. thrilled
Look on the map. There are no beaches at Bangkok or near it.Step in the Chao Prao River if your not to bright. If you come out of it without some kind of disease I would be surprised.Go on out to the airport that's what you need to do. FireMedic
It's faster to fly to one of the nice beaches than drive to a decent beach.
recycler
Navy area beaches in Sattahip would be closest to BKK, they are clean and the water is clear.

Nobody allowed unless accompanied by Thai service man/woman. Patrols operate and make checks. My friend goes there all the time. No Thai escort. Rules are a bit different on weekends and it's PACKED! Water is pretty good though. The best beaches are at least 3-4 hours from the mouth of the Chao Praya. Samet is quite nice, but I've not been in several years. jspill
Those Navy run Sattahip beaches enforce a life vest when swimming, had a soldier swim out to tell me off at 'Koh Kham'. Also pretty packed as said above. Won't be going back. Beach average, doesn't look like Google images. I'd vote for Hua Hin.

Patrols operate and make checks.Hat Nang Ram was OK when I was there a couple of weeks back. There is a Navy prep/screening school just south of Bangsarae and Noong Nooch Tropical Gardens (about 20minutes drive south of Pattaya). Inside the base there is a Beach run by the Navy called "Had Sai Kaew" (white sand beach). Water is always crystal clear, almost always a nice breeze, beach is white fine sand cleaned by navy everyday, Free toilets and showers with clean water, Cheap bungalows for rent near the beach, restaurants, food stalls, Trees with shade, beach chairs for rent at 30 Baht (you get 10 Baht back if you return the chair when you leave), mats for rent, sea kayaks for rent, no jet skies. Not too crowded in the weekends but quiet a lot of Thai arrive in the weekends at about noon. If one arrives early in the morning you can drive your car/mc all the way to the beach parking area, but after 9:00 I think you have to park at the gate and take a free taxi to the beach. When you arrive at the Navy base gate just say "Had Sai Kaew" and they will give you a pass regardless of you being accompanied by a Thai or not. There is a small fee of 50 Baht for "Farang" I think. Note that there are two gates you must pass, first the main gate of the Navy base, then there are signs directing you to the beach along the internal roads, at the beach itself there is another gate where you pay the fee before entering. inside that gate there are the Baht bus type taxis that will take you to the actual beach. There is also a backdoor gate inside Bangsarae village at the south end. Edited May 26, 2015 by AlQaholic

Patrols operate and make checks. Wrong. Anyone can visit Had Sai keaow beach as long as you leave your ID at the checkpoint. If you go by bike you must be wearing your helmet. 100 baht for farangs 50 baht for Thais. IMO its not much better than Bang Saray beach and that's free. Laza 45
It might be a bit far for you.. but I had a great holiday at Prachuap Khiri Khan a few years ago.. nice beaches .. not crowded.. not many 'ferang'.. mostly caters for Thai tourists.. clean water.. good seafood.. We went by train.. comfortable 6 hr journey.. the train drops you off at a cute station about 100 meters from the beach and hotels.. can rent car or motorbikes.. andy8017
Been to Cha Am on a few occasions , there is a bit of a racket going on with deck chairs and parking, and a bit crowded at times, but the main thing i found against it was the sticky feeling after going for a swimm
Araiwa
My vote would be koh Samet .. many beautiful beaches, my favourite being Ao Prao You can get there easily via ferry or speedboat from Rayong which is only a short drive from Bangkok Yes, I also would like to recommend Koh Samet. Whereas my favourite beach is Ao Vongduearn. Good range of accommodation, beach bars and restaurants. Love this place. It's only a 3 hours drive from Bangkok to Rayong and then another 15-20 minutes with the speed boat to the island. Other good options are Hua Hin and Prachuapkhirikhan.
