Filipina In Thailand Going For Non-settlement Visa In Uk

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,

I'm a filipina working as a director for a newly open hotel upcountry since March 2006. I have a work permit and legally living in Thailand. I love traveling (been doing this when money available) and I've been traveling to EU country in a tourist visa like Malta for 8 months. Going to Malta, I pass Heathrow and they stamped me 24-hours visa (which I dont know how to call) after some questions.

Anyway my questions here is: this year I want to visit UK for under two weeks. My company is willing to sponsor me with my application for UK non-settlement or tourist visa. I been traveling different countries on my own expenses as i have a properties in the Philippines (take care by my family) which i can prove.

What documents should we need to submit? From my company and from my end?

I have friends of friends who can let me stay in their house in the UK and they are willing to give their address for me in the application. But, would it be better to give the embassy their address or just booked a hotel? A bit of a hassle though, as I'm traveling low-budget although my company will sponsor me with this application, not all my holiday is paid by the company.

I was just wondering if anyone could give any advice. It would really greatly appreciated. :o

As you are well-travelled, you shouldn't have too much difficulty obtaining a UK visit visa.

You should submit evidence that you can pay for the trip and that you have somewhere to stay in the UK: a letter from your friend should be acceptable. In addition, you should submit evidence of your immigration status in Thailand (your work permit) and a letter from your employer which states for how long you have been employed, what job you do, your salary, and the date you are expected to resume work. You may also choose to include some pay slips and evidence that you own property in the Philippines.

Cheers,

Scouse.

Thanks Scouse for the quick reply, will do what your advice.

Actually, I was already at the Regent House but feel confuse when some staff on the second floor try to charge me around 5,000.00 baht fee instead of 400++ that posted on the UK website. How much really is the visa fee?? I mean, I dont mind having TRAVEL AGENCY helping me with my application (as long as it is not a ripped off) besides, I'm use to processing papers/documents on my own when applying for a visa except of course if the company have assigned someone for me.

Can anyone please give me some info about this. Do I really have to undergo to the process of having this staff at the UK Centre? Please enlighten me with this..thank you in advance! :D:o

The visit visa fee is £50, so about 3500 baht, and you also have to pay the visa centre service charge of 400-and-odd baht.

Thanks a lot Scouse, very helpful. Cheers!

The people trying to charge you to 'help' you with the application are not application centre staff. They are not official and are trying to con money out of the unwary. Avoid.

As already said, with your travel history and circumstances, the application should be straightforward.
