Non O visa on back of WP

Featured Replies

I have attained a work permit, and recently went to Malaysia to try to get a Non O visa for my wife and 2 kids.

I was told that my wife needs B400k in the bank before a Non O can be issued. Any help ?

Yes, you can go to Savanakhet in Laos as the consulate there does not ask for any financial documentation/proof of funds

What consulate did you go to?

Kuala Lumpur is very strict, go to Penang or Kota Bahru.

Where in Malaysia did you go ?

Did your wife and children accompany you on the trip?

What exactly was requested?

What nationality are you (and your wife )

What visa do you currently have?

my was with and kids tp Penang. They requested a bank acc with B400k for my wife

I suppose your wife is a foreigner as well and applying as a dependent of you.

She can apply for a non-O visa together with the children based on being your dependent. Normally you need to provide:

- copy of your passport

- copy of work permit

- copies of their own passports

- proof of marriage /birth certificates for children

- letter from employer asking for a visa for the wife

Apply in Laos. Penang might have misunderstood and thought she was applying based on the children going to school.

There is no work visa. Have you gotten an extension of stay from immigration yet?

yes i have the extension of stay visa

I assume you had copies of your passport including the extension stamp long with your marriage certificate when you submitted the application for a single entry non-o visa for your wife.

The 400k baht is certainly not a requirement to get the non-o visa.

As stated copies of your passport as detailed in post number 6 + a copy of the extension of stay stamp (it is not a "visa").

Also needed will be copies of the marriage certificate and the children's birth certificates.

It is important to state the "O" visas are being requested on the basis of "Dependency"

The "visas" will be issued allowing a single 90 day entry. During the last 30 days of that entry application for an "extensions of stay", based on dependency , should be made at the local immigration office.
