BeyondME
Hey, Kidz I'm looking for any, ideally current, reliable information about Borderline Personality Disorder in the Thai language. If you can help with this, please do so. If you can't, please troll another topic (lots to choose from). If good materials are available, information about Bipolar I and II would also be appreciated. Cheers all
Sheryl
There are Thai language psychology textbooks that would have this. but are you looking for information geared towards laypeople? If so then I doubt you will find anything on Borderline Personality. For bipolar , this site may be of some use though I am not sure how suitable for laypeople: http://www.rcpsycht.org/detail_title.php?news_id=79 There is also a Thai Facebokk page for bipolar but I have no way of telling how accurate its information is https://th-th.facebook.com/bipolarfc The Thai Family Link Association has a "Bipoar Friends Club" which meets in Nonthaburi and is a sort of peer support thing, this is their web page with some basic info http://www.thaifamilylink.net/web/node/38 And this was developed in Australia http://www.mhcs.health.nsw.gov.au/publicationsandresources/pdf/publication-pdfs/3200/bhc-3200-tha.pdf the English translation is here http://www.mhcs.health.nsw.gov.au/publicationsandresources/pdf/publication-pdfs/3200/bhc-3200-tha.pdf One can find much more on bipolar than borderline personality because people with personality disorders are, be definition, not likely to seek help or join/form support groups. GF having very hard time finding anything. Well the concept exists within Thai pyschiatry, but it is indeed not known to the public. In general Thais are much less savvy/informed about psychological issues than Westerners and it is little written about; most peoplek are not even aware of the difference between neurosis, psychosis etc. . Bipolar disorder, which seems quiet common here, is something of an exception.
