I figure I will not be the only one with this question here.

Please post recommendations for a hotel in Kuala Lumpur that's pleasant and convenient to wherever it is we'll be going for visa paperwork. Around 3 to 4 star should be decent enough.

Anything we should do/see in KL, apart from shopping ?

Location of Thai Embassy in KL is somewhat similar to Silom where there are nearby offices and shopping cemtres. I didn't get to check out hotels in the area but chosen to stay in the city centre.

I stayed in this hotel in March while applying for a non-immigrant visa. Downstairs are lots of restaurants, across KFC and money changers, traditional massage parlours, 711, etc, internet cafes, shopping centres....

The hotel have simple stuff like aircon, toilet (hot/cold), work desk, tv. Taxi fare to Thai Embassy (one way) is about Rs 5 only. There are lots of small hotels in the area and suggest you check out the rooms first before committing.
