June 13, 201511 yr "Somchai, the media is getting a little to close for comfort, time to arrest some foreigners" "Captain, we have two aliens in the cells for driving a motorbike without a licence, Abdul and Hasol" "Perfect Somchai, charge them with something! If everything else fails use our secret weapon LM "
June 14, 201511 yr While foreigners are undoubtably involved in cross border trafficking, it beggars belief that they have been operating right under the noses of the authorities unseen, unnoticed and with absolute impunity for so long. Various media and the US TIP reports have long stated that the Thai authorities and local influential people have been right at the centre of this horror for many years. Prayut may claim that Thailand is making progress in stopping trafficking in Thailand. He may also claim the junta's zero tolerance and harsh punishments for the perpertrators of this crime, no matter their position in society. Let's hope that once the investigation has been wound up, we see the junta reporting hard, tangible and credible evidence that all those responsible for people trafficking - Thai and foreign - have been caught and punished, and the trade networks eradicated. I have my doubts...

I have my doubts... Yes, I look to the not too distant future reports on the trade from credible sources, unfortunately I doubt if this scourge has been eradicated. What then will be the responses of the countries still involved. More of the same? Edited June 14, 201511 yr by Oziex1
