I am in Europe for 2 weeks.

Austria.....What should I look for to bring to Thailand? I think I have everything, but I am sure 1 month after I am back I think I should have looked and bought xxxxxx.

OK I want to check for a trouser in one of the big shops with many choices, maybe gloves with a "net like" top so some sun goes thru but any other good idea?

From Austria? How about one of the paintings you still have in Vienna,that where looted in WW2,maybe we could all enjoy them here.Or alturnatafly a Sachertorta,or a nice rauche forella ( smoked trout ) from the schwarze wasser near Vienna.

Yeah, I'd like a roucheforella (I guess that means Räucherforelle) and some Mozartkugeln, please. :D

Oh, what the heck, I think I'll just move there. It is mountain biking paradise.

As sad it is, I worry my ancestors didn't steal any paintings or hidden gold I could sell now sad.png , actually they were all immigrants to Austria just before WW2. Sachertorte is an excellent idea but I doubt it helps me with the bike.

Forelle....well there are better fish in Thailand.

Schwarze Wasser near Vienna blink.png ......I think there is something lost in translation.

I think more of bicycle parts which are expensive or hard to get in Thailand.....my Tiger tank in the bunker is unfortunately to heavy for the baggage....

They don't like to let you bike on the streets in the forest sad.png But I am more a street biker and the mountains are great with excellent streets. + very good rehydration products burp.gif

So I've heard. Question is can they catch me? (evil laughter)

I can attest that the Bavarian and Austrian rehydration products are indeed unmatched. Use AFTER riding only.

You can almost get everything here these days but shoes if you have size 48 like me, energy gels are expensive in Thailand, special tools and/or equipment e.g. good quality torque wrench, SPD spacers, over sized clothing and load up to your maximum allowable weight limit on gummy bears.

I saw the Haribo Gummy bears are now available in Thailand so the hard times end.....

Clothes: I am almost Thai sized.....but I'll still check in Europe.

"So I've heard. Question is can they catch me? (evil laughter)" well the "care taker" has a 4 wheel car (that is a minus point for you), but is usually well hydrated (that is a + point for you) and he has a gun, which often caused problems.

Drunk choleric people in green clothes in the forest aren't my friends....

I'll do some extensive research on the rehydration products....

aaahhhh the Schwarza!!

I am living at the Schwarza but a but downstream where it isn't as beautiful.

Going the loop along the Schwarza....Neunkirchen--Glocknitz--Reichenau, than somewhere to Puchberg and back is a wonderful street bicycle tour, specially on hot days as it is nice cool between the mountains. Swimming in it is also nice but temperature is about 2 cm (if you can imagine how this temperature scale works). Very clean water and somewhere in the middle is a museum showing how the king made the water tubes to supply Vienna with the water. Small but worth to see.

I like to ride the type of trails where no 4-wheel vehicle can go, so the ranger is out of the picture, unless he rides an enduro motorcycle, in which case I am probably screwed.

Well some of them walk.... no problem when going downhill but when you go up it is a problem, specially if they have a German Shepard. Never saw one on an Enduro......I guess not allowed.

But it is a problem that fixes itself the old idi0ts are getting older and older and the next generation also grew up with MTB.

Here in Thailand impossible to find and buy Schwalbe Marathon Plus for MTB ;( we can find Schwalbe tyres for road bikes but not for MTB, I don't know why ? )

The first pair I had came from Japan with a nephew who is living and working there;

When he came to visit me in E-San ( Sakon Nakhon province ) he gave me a great gift with a pair of these tyres ( 26 x 1.75 ) ;

the second pair arrived here with a friend from France ;

and now I would like to have a third pair because I ride about 15.000 km a year , nearly the life of a Schwalbe Marathon Plus pair ;

With the first pair I did 22.000 kilometers without any puncture !!

About bike pants, you must buy them in Austria; here they are not good and impossible to find ASSOS one's even they are very expensive .( 150 the basic to 400 euros the best , for one in France ! )
