Need to Send Documents to US Fastest Way

Featured Replies

I need to send some legal documents to US for a real estate closing on the 28th. I've an appointment on the 21st at the US Consulate to get them notarized (outrageous fees!) What's the fasted and most reliable way to ship them?

Many thanks.

FedEx letter.

Thanks. That's what I thought....

From the above re: Notary services at US Embassy Bangkok: (outrageous fees!)

From the US Embassy Bangkok website re Notary service fees: Fee: $50 for each affidavit.

Such is life in the fast lane doing your US real estate transactions whilst here in the Land of Smiles -- wait 'til you see the FedEx fee.

When I do states side closings, I have only ever had to send documents notorized by an in country Solicitor/Attorney /Legal Counsel. Most times I use UPS supplied 'letter or legal' size document envelope. Quick and efficient.

Why don't you pay a notary in the US to print, notarize and deliver? It would be much cheaper.

I have to sign the documents in the presence of the Notary. With Witnesses.

I did this exact process last week. Feel free to PM with any questions. Like you mentioned, you will have to pay $50 up front for each signature that requires a notary. It is your responsibility to count the signatures.

My refinance company gave me a pre-paid shipping label from UPS. I went to the UPS center in the map below and dropped it off. It arrived in US before they said it would.

Note: Mail boxes ETC has a UPS emblem but they will not guarantee when the pickup is. And the office I listed below is closed from 12:00-1:00, but since I had a label already printed they accepted my package.
